Creeping Whaaaat?

I`d be telling my age if I told you I was a freshman at Ohio State the year they won the national championship beating USC and O J Simpson in the Rose Bowl.  In that game the Heismann Trophy winner`s numerical counterpart, #32, was one of the many super sophomores that became a household name from game one for the Buckeyes.  He was Jack Tatum.  I had the honor of meeting him as he visited our co-ed dorm by the stadium numerous times.  Well, time flies as that only seems like yesterday thanks to the increasing rapidity of all these years.  And that`s the inverse, time, of pathology.  One wonders how the first part of life takes so long to grow and develop while, before you know it, like a roller-coaster you`re marching as a young adult into middle age whereby how you handle that determines the length and rate of middle age before downhill time.  I was saddened to hear on the radio last July that Jack died of a heart attack.  I got ahold of a Washington Post only to find that his death was not announced in the sports section but the obituaries.  It got ahold of me telling of how the once solid athlete over time developed heart disease and diabetes leading to a leg amputation, et al.
The baby boomer generation has seen the most advances in alternative medicine and nutritional discoveries and yet the other side of the coin; the economy, high cost of living, health care, health supplements, stressors and more, dictate the rate of our decline.  More and more we hear that heart disease, cancer, and diabetes are the leading causes of death in the USA.  It wasn`t always that way - others topped the list until the last generation when these increased their way to the top of the statistical heap in tandem and most likely in the same order!  Now diabetes is being linked to heart disease as its ever-increasing cause.  It`s also linked to other diseases as circulatory related.
Creeping diabetes!  Who`da thunk it?  Type 2 diabetes, like great lovers, is made, not born.  You hear many accounts of patients complaining of being tired, lacking energy, etc., as the primary symptom of many different diagnoses but not of diabetes.  That should be the red flag as they all share the underlying imbalances of lifestyle.  A few years back I was diagnosed as a pre-diabetic but I didn`t pay heed because I went to that doctor to prescribe a cat scan and get the results for some other concern.  Prior to that I was a cash cow to ophthamologists and other doctors for what people felt was diabetes related.  The nerve tingling I began to get was in the area of my back near the right shoulder that I wrote off as related to the area of impact from hitting back against the wall of my mini pickup truck as it and the rear-ending vehicle were totaled together!  That theory made sense as cause and effect which misled me until of late as I have had that same type of nerve tingling in other parts of my body ( creeping diabetes ).  Before much of the time I`ve described I had the opposite symptoms - hypoglycemia ( creeping diabetes )!  Other clues/symptoms I`ve had include eccess thirst ( albeit little and far between ), along with excess urination ( ibid ).  I don`t want to say I`m in denial but am holding out for a time while exploring alternatives.  I`ve always believed nutritional supplements are a base if not the whole treatment for most cures.  I get a lot of brochure/booklet ads in my snail mail for health supplements ranging the entire gamut of old age health problems and one of these was for a three part ( in bottles ) program for beating diabetes.  It was endorsed by the Diabetic Warrior who has an info booklet program for affiliates whether or not they have diabetes.
